Thanksgiving Food & Beer Pairings

Thanksgiving is the time of year where we get together with friends and family, over eat, watch football, talk politics, and – most importantly – drink beer! We are thankful for greatconsumers who support local and enjoy all of our craft drinks. Looking for last minute ideas to bring to your Thanksgiving or Friendsgiving feast? We shared our tasty ideas with WCCO and want to share with you. Below are a couple awesome pairings that combine your favorite old traditions with some new ones to make your gatherings truly memorable.

Appetizer: Buffalo Turkey Wings paired with Lift Bridge Farm Girl Golden Ale
Fun alternative to traditional turkey! wings can be purchased from the grocery store andare very inexpensive. Wings are brined in beer & spices, dredged and deep fried (or baked). Then tossed with a hot buffalo sauce and serve alongside some cranberry blue cheese sauce and celery sticks. This app would not be complete without a large cold glass of Farm Girl nearby to wash down all this flavor.

Main Side: Vegetarian Beer Stuffing
No more soggy flavorless stuffing from a bag. Use fresh fall veggies, cut and roasted with cubed sourdough bread, fall spices, and of course beer. Roast until golden brown in a large oven safe dish and serve with the rest of your traditional feast. This side pairs perfectly with our Elevated Amber, that has a subtle malty roastiness that compliments the roasted vegetables.

Dessert: Drunkin’ Pumpkin Hand Pies from Sara’s Tipsy Pies, paired with, and made with,Commander Barley Wine
Sara’s Tipsy Pies are not just for State Fair goers. Sara operates a brick and mortar shop in Stillwater, the home town of Sara’s Tipsy Pies and Lift Bridge Brewery. The Drunkin’ Pumpkin pie filling is made with Commander Barley Wine, which is Lift Bridge’s annual November limited release beer. For the fall feast, we recommend stopping by the Lift Bridge taproom and grabbing a bottle of our just released Commander Barley Wine! You can’t show up to Thanksgiving empty handed. Commander is available in both taprooms, Stillwater, MN and New Richmond WI.
